The exhibition element of Shaheen’s work lies between attraction and simulation and presents poignant testimonies depicting states of intimacy in transient encounters with strangers. A real exchange in cities turns into a participatory exploration of what it means to be attracted to a passerby.

Misplaced Memoirs

In this live performance Shaheen sets a scenography for a limited audience to experience the work. Notions of unrequited love are declared in an autobiographical, confessional manner. Shaheen explores the fluidity and transcultural nature of queer identity through stories of personal desire, and past relationships.
