Sitting in a darkened hotel room, alone, a performer enters a rampant lust‑fuelled hormone‑induced altered state, looping back to lost teenage years. The phone rings constantly, will you answer it and be complicit in the performer’s desire?
Frustrations are unleashed between her thighs, messy, chaotic and random. “I’m trying so hard to please myself I’m turning into someone else.” A masked face symbolises being liberated from attachment to a limited body.
Lady Helena Vortex is a street‑walking cheetah with a heart full of napalm. Psychopomp goddess and performer, her practice invests in ideas of risk, dynamics of living, thinking, feeling, dreaming, distinguishing and identifying. Her personal mythology boldly exposed as she subverts traditions of representation, power and sex.
